Lights Out Louisville: 🌌✨ Helping Our Feathered Friends Fly Safely
"Lights Out Louisville" is a citywide initiative aimed at protecting migratory birds during their seasonal journeys. Each year, millions of birds pass through Louisville, often navigating by the stars. But bright city lights can disorient them, leading to collisions with buildings. From now through mid-November, Louisville residents and businesses are encouraged to dim their outdoor lights at night, especially between midnight and dawn. By turning off non-essential lights, the city hopes to create a safer path for these winged travelers. Join the movement to protect our feathered friends and keep Louisville’s skies safe during their migration season!
